In light of your whole article, I feel a little confused that is it an advertisement for the English Time or for yourself? You always recommend people to see the English Time but mention few reasons and requirements about finding a GF or even wife.
On the other hand, like other's sayings, the whole article sounds that you are showing off yourself. I hope not but don't eliminate the later factor. For poor English person, speaking and writing English everydayis an indispensable role, however, which is opposite for you. While you feel confident of your English, you should practice more on Chinese or Mandarin. As a result, I have to say "shame on you".
A little comments, thanks and have a nice day!
There are two reasons why I asked people here to go to English Time to read my flagship post "Views from Ordinary Americans" ( I always believe it is one of the very few high-quality topics posted in the entire Hangzhou BBS, I have never found any other post having so many good questions and good writings. Tell me the truth, have you ever found anyone in Hangzhou BBS who wrote as seriously as I did ? ). First, I am a moderator of English Time and I love ET, so I feel that I have the responsibility to promote my ET. Secondly, I talked so much about myself in "Views from Ordinary Americans". I believe I could be better understood if folks here could actually go there to read some of them. In the past few months, it has been proved that it is indeed a very effective way to show who I am. I have got very positive feedbacks from our audience.
No, I don't need to practice my Chinese. I speak perfect Pu Tong Hua, better than 95% of Hangzhou ren. But I do require that the person who potentially might become my GF needs to understand basic English. The reason is very simple. Currently I don't have the plan to go back to China to live, therefore, I need to convince the potential her to come to New York to live with me. Of course, she has to understand English. This s it, no exception.
Finally, I appreciate your response and you have a good day too. |
