I am old enough to get my doctorial degree, to have made a great progress in my career. It takes time to be successful, to realize one's dream. Accroding to statistics. I am among the top 10% of the Chinese who have successfully settled down in US after graduating from American universities. In average, it takes minimum of 10 years for a Chinese to get a graduate degree , especially a Ph. D. degree, in a US university and successfully land on a stablized job. Most Chinese are just like average white colar Americans working in companies, few Chinese are in management level in major US companies. So it takes longer for a person to move into the management group.
I hope you get rough idea of my age.

Of course, I will only share my private information with those who have intimate relationship with me. :)

I still have quite a vague idea about it. But I don't think age is what you called "private information". Instead, if you are seeking your future spouse here, age is something quite necessary to show your sincerity (so is your marital status).

when i first came to china, my typing was so awful that i would not like to type chinese. then i learnt pin-yin. it takes me about a good 4 months to type fluently.

我刚来中国的时候，也是为了中文打字有很多的问题。后来花了一点时间把拼音学了，现在打字就很顺利。反而英文的打字退步了。
